A day that starts off with a Dunkin’ Donuts run is a good day on the trail. I crossed into New York today after lunch, caught a couple of glimpses of the NYC skyline, did some fun rock scrambling, and didn’t even get into any fights with Yankees fans! The trail has obviously been teaching me self-restraint.

It was amazing how the throngs of people were out today. I thought about stopping and asking one obnoxious individual if he’d respect my desire to enjoy a quiet day in the woods. Then I remembered I was in NY and decided not to bother. I will be out of the state in 4 days and probably not miss the people too much.

It’s an early bed time for me. I arranged for a Friday pickup in CT, about 90-100 miles up the trail, so I gotta buckle down and put in the miles. Looking forward to seeing my friends Joe & Diana again!
